Research & Teaching

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

- MOTHER THERESA

Research

I started my research career at the Instituto Nacional de Psiquiatría “Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz” – Mexico. In this institution, I participated in a binational project with the National Institute of Drug Abuse – Florida Node Alliance.

A couple of years later, I started studying my Ph.D. The research topic that I am addressing is related to Environmental Psychology, specifically about Nature-Based Solutions and Nature-Based Interventions; therefore, I am investigating the Connection to Nature of Mexicans, as well as the relationship of this topic with health and socioeconomic equality.

These researches are still ongoing, but I will keep you posted when I have some results of it 🙂

In addition, I am currently part of GoGreenRoutes, where I am participating in the development of an Urban Nature Connectedness Scale.

Teaching

I was very lucky to start my teaching career at the Tec de Monterrey – Campus Mexico City. In addition to making great friends and meeting great people, in this institution I was able to design and teach the Health Psychology course for the FIT program (course that I loved to develop and teach, not only because I had the theory in this area, but also because I experienced firsthand what people feel when facing a loss of health). Moreover, I  have also taught courses in psychopharmacology, general psychology, mindfulness and thanatology.

Currently, I have my first international experience as a teacher, where I have been able to teach seminars like: Applied Research in prevalence, prevention and treatment of mental disorders, Sportpsychology Interventions, Psychophysiology of Stress, Research Methods in Psychological Prevention, among others.
